VinaSoy fund for disadvantaged families presents 10 million VND to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay

In the afternoon of 8 January 2013, on behalf of the provincial chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland front, Mr. Le Van Sau, deputy director, and Mr. Nguyen Trong Thanh, VinaSoy marketing director, along with representatives of local leadership presented a symbolic cheque for 10 million VND to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay, a disadvantaged household in a village of Nghia Hanh district. The funds were provided by VinaSoy through the company’s fund for poor families in the province. In addition, the family received 4,850,000 VND in cash, 1 large box of instant noodles, 30 kg of rice, and 1 large box of milk donated by a group of women at the local market.

Ms. Bay was active as a vanguard youth in the war and has since married and raised a family, but her path in life has not been smooth. She initially moved her children to Lan Dong province and began earning a living. For over 12 years Bay and her three children lived a day-to-day existence in a rented shack. Tragedy struck the family five years ago when Bay was hit by a falling load of bricks and left with a lifelong disability. The family entered a new phase of hardship, further exacerbated when Bay was diagnosed with liver and kidney disease. Unable to cope with the situation, in the middle of 2012 the family moved from Bao Loc province back to Hanh Minh commune, Nghia Hanh surband district to live with Bay’s sister. Their situation is desperate.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented an amount of 5,150,000 VND collected from television viewers to the family of Mr. Nguyen Viet in Hanh Phuc commune. Mr. Phuoc was featured in a charity television “Connecting the hearts” special organized in part by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Vietnam Broadcast Station.
